Problem Statement
This infographic was created while working at Petplan pet health insurance for a partnership with Tall Tails. Tall Tails is a partner that Petplan worked with many times in the past on email promotions, but this request was something we had not done before. The partner wanted to promote their bedding and blankets and we were left to come up with a blog and infographic that accomplished this goal.
01 Gameplan
The copywriter and I worked together and decided that the best way to promote these products was to detail various sleeping positions. The plan was to speak to every petʼs individuality and their ownerʼs love of these unique traits. While our copywriter worked on matching pupʼs sleeping positions to the best Tall Tails bed or blanket, I did image research and started working to develop an illustration style. This style had to fit Petplanʼs brand, but be unique enough to live in both brandʼs worlds.
02 Refined Style
Once the illustration style was determined, I carried it out to the six different sleeping styles that our copywriter had determined. This was the first time since working at Petplan that I was given the opportunity to create and execute a uniquely styled piece.
03 Final Result
After completing the six illustrations shown above, they needed to be fit into Petplanʼs infographic style. Based off the infographics that Petplan had put out in the past, I built a layout that would work well on our blog and stay true to our brand.
Considering the amount of copy, I had to find a way to break things up so that the visual aspect of this piece was the most striking. Highlighting a bit of each blurb allowed me to draw interest and relate the copy directly to each unique illustration. The name of each Tall Tails product was also featured to ensure the partner would be happy with the promotional aspect of the infographic. See below for the final email, as well as the inspiration and references behind this infographicʼs style.
