Pawp Email Revamp

Competitive Analysis & Email Redesign

Problem Statement

Pawp’s emails have been through a lot of changes since I initially started work at Pawp back in 2021. Two brand revamps later, we decided to take the time to do a full email analysis and work towards having a very cohesive email system.

01 Gameplan

The absolute first step to this process was research. What are other companies doing and doing well? What is performing? What are some elements that remain consistent brand to brand that we can implement? I used sites like reallygoodemails.com and milled.com to do email research, as well as reading articles on best practices. The below deck was our first step in the process.

02 Next Steps

After sharing this deck with my direct manager, it was time to implement my takeaways. Working alongside our Growth Marketing Manager, we determined what modules would be best for our email platform, customer.io, and what we could or could not implement. These guidelines helped to build designs that were not only more visually appealing, but more functional and easier to build and iterate.

The below deck was shared with one of our company founders and a larger team to get approval before we started updating existing emails and creating new ones.

03 Final Result

After getting the approval we needed to move forward, we started with transactional emails and the newsletter. The below assets are where we ended up with each design. These designs are more mobile friendly than our previous emails, easier to build and edit for our email team and feel more in line with the updated brand.
